ABOUT HARRY W. OGDEN JR.

Harry Wayland Ogden Jr. was born to Harry and Edjuana Ogden on Thursday, July 22, 1982, in Madison, Wisconsin. Harry went to be with his heavenly father on February 21, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Harry is survived by his parents and his maternal grandmother.

Harry was full of life, and touched the lives of all who knew him. He had a smile that would warm your heart, and the gift of communicating with ease. Harry grew up in Madison, and became an active member in the Madison community at a very young age. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and an active member of the children’s choir, young adult choir and youth ministry.

Harry attended Abundant Life Christian School, Kennedy Elementary School, Whitehorse Middle School, and in the year 2000 he graduated from LaFollette High School. While at LaFollette, he was a member of the football team, and became an acting enthusiast through his participation in Teen Talk on Madison's cable access channel. Harry attended UW-La Crosse and Whitewater, before transferring to Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2005.

Harry was an avid sports fan, with a love for both basketball and football. His favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings, and he wasn't afraid to let everyone know about it despite living in Green Bay Packer territory. He was also a fan of Lebron James, and followed his career from Cleveland to Miami and back to Cleveland again.

A Memorial Scholarship fund is being setup to support college students as a way of remembering Harry Jr. as he was passionate about helping young people in achieving their educational goals. Harry loved children, and was a godfather of 3 girls. Harry was the only child, and had countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
